Move over, Elsa! In case you haven’t noticed – a little cheeky girl with wavy hair and big brown eyes has officially dethroned you. Goodbye, Let It Go! It’s all about “How Far I’ll Go” now. Yes, my little toddler got bitten by the Moana bug last year. So, for her 3rd birthday the party theme is pretty obvious. Armed with her broken toddler talk, she sings the damn song every single day *.*
We wanted a pretty chill, laid back gathering so for the venue, we chose a party room – the ultimate answer to HK’s tiny flat and throwing a party challenge! I wish the price will be lower though as paying per person may turn out to be more expensive than booking a restaurant which includes food. So, be mindful of your headcount, negotiate then negotiate even further. But on the flip side, I know exactly what to blame – HK rent! Oh well!
Moving on, it was indeed a fun chillax party. So, if your daughter is equally-obsessed with this strong-willed, daring and feisty Polynesian princess then read on and get inspired.
WHAT’S GR8 ABOUT THIS PARTY?
– The party room
Convenient location near the MTR, spacious, lots of things to occupy the guests and a nice big, outdoor area. Rate is reasonable as there’s a discount for certain non-peak hours. However, the customer service skills of the owner can be improved – no smiling, too straight talking, too cold (Guess I forgot that I’m in HK)
– The vibe
Instead of entertaining our guests with a structured party programme, they were free to roam around, chitchat, eat, dance, sing, play and do whatever they please
– The Moana Outfit
Ordered from Amazon, good quality but I added a white Sunday dress underneath to give it some volume and make it look a bit more dressier
– The Banner
It doesn’t scream birthday party. In fact, we reused it as wall décor in Gara’s room.
– The DIYS that I painstakingly made. #laboroflove
*The Moana flower crown
*Number 3 with flowers
*The hula hoop photo frame props
– The super cute, Baby Moana cake! And the taste is divine – thanks, Japneet!
– The surfboard-themed name banner
– The Hawaiian flower leis and the boho-esque flower crowns for the guests
– Kids activities: face painting station and hula-hoop games
